Summer is here! We're enjoying every last drop of sunshine and trying to get the most out of these longer days.  In the spirit of the season, we've put together our very first Yes! List of all things SUMMER that we just can't help but be ecstatic about. From fave beachside books to local events we're looking forward to, exciting new beauty finds to recipes we're obsessed with, here are our staff picks for the month!

FAVE LOCAL EVENT:
Jaws on the Water

Jaws on the Water is our favorite thrill of the summer! Float in Lake Travis on your very own shark-themed tube while enjoying a screening of the ultimate terror movie: Jaws! Complete with rides, pools, drinks, shark bite face painting, and even the Amity Island signs, this event is SO much fun! Beware the waters though, as “unknown terrors threaten from the watery depths…” which refers to the fact that there are sneaky scuba divers in the lake, ready to scare the swimsuit off you! The evening ends with fireworks - the perfect close to an awesome summer night. And, if you're not into suspenseful films but want to get in on the lake action, have a swim in Barton Springs to cool off after hiking the Greenbelt!

FAVE POOLSIDE READ:
The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro

If you like being transported to the 1920s in Paris, surrounded by artisans in the world of perfumery, you'll love The Perfume Collector as much as we do! Kathleen Tessaro is masterful in her storytelling, and well a little mystery is just what the doctor ordered when lounging by the pool!

From Amazon: "Newlywed Grace Monroe doesn’t fit anyone’s expectations of a successful 1950s London socialite, least of all her own. When she receives an unexpected inheritance from a complete stranger, Madame Eva d’Orsey, Grace is drawn to uncover the identity of her mysterious benefactor."
...and we won't spoil the rest!

We're so excited to try The Squeezery, a New York-import that's just opened up in Austin! They've got juice, smoothies, coffee, tea, and food bowls - what's not to love?! Plus their Austin location features a gorgeous floor-to-ceiling window featuring Brooklyn artist Katie Merz's incredible work that is totally Insta-worthy.

FAVE NEW WEEKEND ACTIVITY:
Watching the World Cup

While we're very sad the US didn't make it this time, we love watching the weekend games at local pubs! The spirit of the crowd is unparalleled and um....did anyone see the England-Panama match on Sunday? Like WOAH. The finals are going to be SO fun!
Who are you rooting for?

NEW BEAUTY OBSESSION:
EirNYC Active Face Wash

We LOVE how soft this face wash makes our skin feel AND it does a great job protecting and repairing our after-sun skin! We're going to be using it all summer long.

SUMMER RECIPE:
Epic Vegan Cheese Board

This summer, we've been obsessed with pretty plant-based cheeseboards with all the fixings - something you can indulge in as you chat the day away with your gals. This board by Stephanie at The Healthy Hour is to die for! Think beet hummus and baked creamy almond feta. We also love that she included pieces of dark chocolate, because why not?

CURRENTLY LOVING:
Our Office Cutie

July is the month referred to as "the dog days of summer" and we couldn't agree more! July is the perfect month to adopt a pup, especially after Independence Day. Unfortunately, many pups are afraid of the sound of fireworks and often run away from home ending up at local rescues. This month, in fact, our founders have adopted a pup of their own: a three-legged white German shepherd named Maya – and we've all fallen in love with her. She's just another reason we're so excited for the month ahead!
What are you jumping for joy about in July?
Stay tuned for our August Yes! List.
